Drug Information Center

Drug information is the provision of unbiased information about drugs and drug therapy in response to a request from other healthcare professionals, organizations, patients, and the public. RBVRR Women’s College of Pharmacy’s Drug Information Centre is extending the services to community and healthcare professionals in and around the areas of the institution.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To provide unbiased, comprehensive and relevant information regarding the drugs.
  • To improve the community awareness about drug & drug usage.
  • Educating the pharmacist & keeping them abreast with the latest news.
  • To provide Poison management information.
  • Organize awareness programs regarding effective use of medicines, safe handling of pesticides and household chemicals.

Services to:

  • Physicians, students and other specialty health care providers.
  • Medical students.
  • Patients.
  • Public.

Services provided:

Drugs and Poison related information requests from health care professionals.

Assist health care workers on formulary matters.

  • Drug or its Product Information/Identification.
  • Contraindications/Safety.
  • Adverse Drug Reactions/Drug Interactions.
  • Efficacy/Treatment/Choice of drug.
  • Drug information in Pregnancy/Lactation.
  • Drug information in Paediatrics.
  • Drug Profile/Indications/Dosage.
  • Toxic effects of drugs and their management.
